October Updates

Oh man! What a month it's been!

By far the biggest move is that after a ton of consideration, I've decided to bifurcate my publishing ambitions. So, going forward, I will be using the Kurt DeManche name and brand to focus on Contemporary Fiction, Comedy, and my forthcoming Cozy LGBTQI+ Realism collection. In parallel, I'll be working on getting my Science Fiction, Thriller, and Neo-Western works published under a different pseudonym.

Don't worry, if and when I get a bite on those from a traditional publisher, I'll be screaming it to the heavens for any and all readers who want to genre-bounce with me!

Why?

I keep slamming up against a wall of 'brand integrity'. As some of you may know from social or from your poor writer friends that live it, we don't just get to be writers and churn out books these days. We have to be our own marketing team, social media influencer, and brand ambassador. There is good and evil there, and I'll save that for a blog entry at a later time, but the short of it is, the people I'm connecting to from the different communities don't match up in a perfect Venn diagram (There are some you right there in the sweet spot, and I love you for it!). So two names, two different audiences, one author behind the keyboard going forward.

 Why now?

Great question! *wink* ... Because I've decided that the best fit for some of the things I want to publish under Kurt DeManche needs to start coming out now, and thus far I haven't found a traditional publisher that gets the voice and the intent of 'Just Life'. So, I made my own imprint and am publishing them myself!

Just Life is an 18-novella collection that I will be releasing on about a 60-day timeline for the next... two years (Yes, I know that match doesn't work, but there are surprises ahead!)

So mark down your calendars! December 17th: Just Life: Typical Tuesday will be releasing in...* drum roll* eBook and Audiobook!

Much more to come on that release and, of course, the novellas to follow! In the meantime, thank you all for being here, for reading, and for supporting me along this adventure.
